My Transformation to Wellness

14 Aug 2010, Posted by Jennifer Iannolo in wellness

daisyFour months ago I was in misery. My fibromyalgia pain had reached epic proportions, I couldn’t think straight, and I was attempting to put on a brave face so the rest of the world would not know there was something “broken” within me. After all, I was an entrepreneur and world traveler — a connoisseur of life’s decadent pleasures. But that facade was crumbling before me, and I knew I could not accept another invitation to travel until I got this situation under control, because my body simply could not handle it.

So I outed myself. It was the best thing, bar none, I have ever done. If I had kept quiet and suffered in silence, I would not be sitting here four months later with glowing skin, almost no pain, an effervescent spirit, and a desire to change the world. In sharing my experience with you, you shared with me, and helped me out of a very dark pit of anger, physical pain and hopelessness. You have no idea just how big my gratitude is for that, but suffice it to say that it served as the seed idea for another company, because now it’s my turn to help you, and contribute to your quality of life.

As a bonus, since I cut out most dairy and sugar in June, 15 lbs have melted off with no effort whatsoever. If I could take a snapshot of this moment and go back in time to my April self, I would let her know that it was going to be ok, that it would get better. That is what I will now share with the world at large, and people who need to hear it.

I will get into more detail about the exact hows and whys when Zenfully Delicious launches next month, and I’ve never been so excited about a project in my life. It seems that everywhere I turn now, people are developing problems with food, allergens — and don’t even get me started on the stress. But I have discovered in 4 short months that holistic methods are the way to manage these problems best, because rather than focusing on a specific symptom or problem, I am healing my system at large. And guess what? Anyone can do this.

What magnificent freedom I have found thanks to Dr. Alex Rinehart, who has been my teammate all the way. You’ll be hearing a lot more about him, and we’re developing webinars to help you transform yourself to wellness, so sit tight a little longer as we get this show on the road. I also have one more big hurdle to go, which I’m taking on this week, but you’ll have to wait a few days for that post. First I want to relish that challenge for myself a little bit.

Be well this weekend — and go play with your food!
